Psychotherapy

Individuals often come into therapy experiencing pain in a particular area of their lives. Therapy can be a process of self discovery, taking the time to better understand your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and moving toward a resolution that feels right for you.

Patricia Woods has thirteen years experience working with adults, children and adolescents. She has worked with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship issues, and parenting concerns. Patricia has a specialty in the area of mindfulness and stress management and is also a registered yoga instructor.

Mindfulness is the ability to be present and attentive to what is going on in each moment. The practice of mindfulness helps clients become more aware of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as they are happening instead of unconsciously repeating them. This ability to be present provides clients with opportunities to interrupt patterns and make changes, if so desired. Mindfulness can add a richer quality to life as well as a sense of well being.

Patricia has a friendly, open and down to earth approach, helping you to clarify, focus, and move toward your goals.  She offers a direct and energetic style, balanced with compassion and empathy.

She currently provides individual therapy for adults, as well as couples, family, and group therapy services at 1234 Broadway, Somerville, MA. The choice to begin therapy can be a difficult decision. Please feel free to call or email with any questions regarding the process of therapy, the frequency of sessions, scheduling, payment, and insurance concerns.
