Mindfulness is the ability to be present and attentive to what is going on in each moment. The practice of mindfulness helps individuals become more aware of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as they are happening instead of unconsciously repeating them. This ability to be present provides clients with opportunities to interrupt patterns and make changes. Mindfulness adds a richer quality to life as well as a sense of well being. Life becomes a series of moments to be experienced, rather than a “to do” list. The philosophy of Whole Health Fitness is ‘mindfulness in everyday life’ meaning that daily routines become opportunities for mindfulness practice. Clients experience this in the first session and it is both energizing and exciting as they see that change is within reach.
